Movie #2632: Sunset Strip (2012, Hans Fjellestad)
Interesting to watch but no great shakes as a film. Tons of celebs are trotted out to reminisce about the good old days of the strip.
Movie #2633: Electrick Children (2012, Rebecca Thomas)
One ups The Beverley Hillbillies. Instead of Ozark hillbillies in Beverley Hills, we have Utah Mormons in Las Vegas. Young Mormon girl thinks that she was made pregnant by hearing The Nerves singing "Hanging On The Telephone". So, when nobody believes her, she heads to Vegas to try and find someone who sings and plays the guitar: that must be the father of her baby! The father is never revealed (although hints are dropped) so that the viewers can continue the movie experience afterwards by speculating on who it was. Fun.
BTW, that Rory Culkin guy sure acts and looks just like the young Emilio Estevez.
BTW, Wikipedia claims that the version of "Hanging On The Telephone" is a cover by "Flowers Forever".
