Watched the first hour of Gordon Douglas' "The Detective" only to find that the DVD was defective. A lot of time must be lost watching library DVDs that have been damaged.
Instead, I turn to TCM for an early John Sturges. Not a bad little film but no "Bad Day At Black Rock".
