Book #375: Firebreak (2001, Donald E Westlake)
A somewhat lesser Parker novel as some of the spotlight shifts away from Parker and onto the peripheral characters. There's some good stuff in here: the old couple hired to watch Parker's house on TV and the most disfunctional "family" of all time. However, the shift away from Parker slows down the momentum so you don't get that adrenalin rush that you've come to expect from this series.
Movie #1641: Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle (2004, Danny Leiner)
After last night's comedy I decided to check out a more up to date version of the same genre. Actually, the results of watching are much the same: most of the attemts at humour fall flat with a few chuckles here and there. The difference is that all the heart warming stuff is gone to be replaced by swearing and farting. I coulda done without both.
