Movie #1181 (#9 this year): Two Alone (1934, Eliott Nugent)

Arthur Byron (without overalls)

Backwoods shenanigans as righteous old farmer Arthur Byron rules the roost with an iron fist. Of course he does manage to "look the other way" when he can get free labour from a young fellow who's on the lamb or when he starts puttin' the make on a teenage girl that he got from an orphanage (to supply him with more free labour).
A wonderful performance by Mr Byron. I wonder if he won the academy award that year?
