Movie #1615: Scandal Sheet (1952, Phil Karlson)
Superior noir with the great Broderick Crawford. Interestingly, the novel this was based on was written by director Sam Fuller but they got Phil Karlson to direct instead. I don't think this was such a bad idea as Karlson delivers a knockout punch with this one. Also liked Rosemary DeCamp as Mrs Broderick Crawford. Also, all those guys from central casting who played the alkie friends of Henry O'Neill. I reckon this one must have won a pile of oscars in '52.
