Movie #1029: Beast From Haunted Cave (1959, Monte Hellman)

This appears to have been shot at the same time as Roger Corman's "Ski Troop Attack" as the same cast is once again skiing through that same snowy countryside. Not a very good movie but it is better than "Ski Troop Attack" due to a few weird touches by Hellman.

Today's Tune: Quand Le Soleil Dit Bonjour Aux Montagnes
It's Canada Day here so I was looking around for something uniquely Canadian. What could be more Canadian than this: Levis Bouliane & Aurele Lacroix's 1955 Quebec hit which was re-recorded by Manitoba's Lucille Starr in 1964? Sounds pretty authentic but it turns out that the song was actually written by two Englishmen in 1936. Oh well.

And what happens when non-Canadians sing this song? Check out this godawful version by a bunch of new age Euro types.
